TRUSSVILLE BUSINESS LICENSE
Some types of business require more than one business license, special approval, or state/professional certification or permit. There are also zoning regulations that allow certain similar types of business within the various zoning classifications. Always verify that the zoning of a location is appropriate for your business before signing a lease, and verify that adequate parking spaces are available to meet the zoning requirements for your type of business.

The State of Alabama Revenue Department administers the City of Trussville Sales and Use taxes. These taxes are due and payable by the 20th of the month next succeeding the month of collection, and should be remitted to the Alabama Department of Revenue.

Tangible Personal Property 3.0%
Vehicle/Automotive 1.5%
Linens & Garments 3.0%
Rental taxes are due and payable to the City of Trussville by the 20th of the month next succeeding the month of collection.

LODGING TAX
An amount equal to 3% of gross lodging revenues, due and payable to the City of Trussville by the 20th of the month next succeeding the month of collection.

LIQUOR TAX
An amount equal to 10% of gross liquor purchases, due and payable to the City of Trussville by the 20th of the month nex succeeding the month of purchases.

WINE TAX
An amount equal to .07 per liter of wine distributions, due and payable to the City of Trussville by the 20th of the month next succeeding the month of distribution.

Additional STATE AND COUNTY Business Licenses & Sales and Use Tax Information

Businesses may require a State of Alabama License or a Jefferson County or St. Clair County business license in addition to a City of Trussville Business License. State Licenses may be obtained at the County Courthouse. Information on State of Alabama Sales and Use Taxes rates, and well as county and municipal tax rates may be obtained from the State of Alabama Department of Revenue. The State of Alabama collects sales taxes on behalf of the City. The City Sales Tax is remitted electronically to the State. Ad Valorem (Property) Taxes

The City of Trussville has a 5 mill ad valorem (property) tax. This is in addition to the property taxes for the state and for the respective county (Jefferson or St. Clair) as follows:
